Wheaton Woodstock 2023

April 14th 2023 at 5pm multiple student musicians enrolled at Wheaton College are coming together to celebrate peace, love, and music. Things can be stressful at college, especially around finals season. What better way to relax than to go listen to some of your favorite bands, hang out with friends and eat some free food. It was 1969 and the world was changing quickly. Many people felt out of place and there’s was a lack of peace in the world. Everyone in America was looking for something to get them through. So much conflict was occurring, dividing us as a nation. Three days of a music festival was offered in order to bring everyone back together and celebrate peace. A small stage in New York state had the whole nation together in one place having a good time. Similarly this is the goal of Wheaton Woodstock, to bring people together as well as to celebrate music and peace. There’s going to be a very exciting lineup starting at 5pm on the 14th and all of the musicians are more than excited to share with you what they’ve been working on.

One of the musical groups – “Moss Creek” with members Ben Lyon, Ezra Golub, Thomas Bleakney, and Kassidy Brooks, is more than excited to share what they’ve been working on. This freshman group has been performing together since October 2022 and they made their debut performance at Demon Daze with a mash up of 505 by the Arctic Monkeys as Monster Mash by Bobby Pickett.

While speaking with members of the group, Golub states “I’m excited to see a lot of the school get together for the first time I feel like I haven’t seen a school wide fun event here yet as a freshman and having everyone out there hanging out listening to live music from students put on by students on a beautiful day is going to be sick” Golub has been in multiple bands since he was young and plans on continuing on this track. Overall the entire band cant wait to share their set with the audience and hopefully put on an amazing show.

“It has been in the planning stages for a while now and it’s really exciting to see it start to come to fruition. Live music is one of the best things out there and I think it will be a great time for the school to come together and enjoy each other’s company and music. If everything goes as planned I think this could be the start of a really cool tradition here! also it’s always fun to play out in public especially to people you know”
